Kingdom Arts & Sciences Collegium
June 12–13, 2010 Barony March of Mons Tonitrus
Hear ye, hear ye! We call for the attention of all within the realm of Atenveldt! Now is the time for one and all to seek learning and share knowledge of the Arts and Sciences at the Annual Kingdom A&S Collegium being held June 12–13, 2010.
Come join in this most wonderful day full of learning!
Location: The event will be held at Cochise College, located at 901 North Colombo Avenue, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635. Please note that this is a dry (no alcoholic beverages) site.
Event Times: Site and Troll will open at 9:00 AM both days. Troll will be closed at 4:00 PM on Saturday and at 2:00 PM on Sunday. Site will close at 6:00 PM on both days.
Site Fees: Site fees are $5 for adult paid members with proof of membership, $8 for adult non-members, $3 for youth (10 to 17 years), and children under 10 will receive free admission.
Teachers are Needed: You can now sign up to teach classes with the quick and easy online form! Click HERE to access this form, or go to the Kingdom A&S Website, go to A&S events, then to Kingdom A&S Collegium, from there you will see where the form is. Directions to the Site: From I-10, take exit 302 (Sierra Vista/Ft. Huachuca). Drive south on Highway 90 approximately 25 miles. Turn left at the intersection of the Highway 90 Bypass at the East gate. Follow the Bypass around to the third traffic light, which is Charleston Road (Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway to the right). Turn left on Charleston Road, then turn left at the next traffic light, which is Colombo Avenue. The College is on the right. Take the first road to the right to the parking lot next to the library (large building on left). Follow the signs to the new Student Union building where troll and registration will be. Make Your Original A&S Written Material Available to Others…
The SCA is all about the Arts and Sciences of the Middle Ages and Renaissance eras! Learning about the A&S, and then passing your knowledge and skill on to others, is a truly noble endeavor.
Have you, as a knowledgable artisan, Collegium instructor, or A&S Competition entrant, created a well-written original article, class handout, or documentation? Would you consider sharing your knowledge with others who might not have been able to attend your class or work directly with you? Here's your opportunity! With your permission, we can make your original material available to others through publication on the Atenveldt A&S Website, the Atenveldtus Glorious (annual Atenveldt Kingdom A&S Newsletter), or (perhaps) in the Southwind (Atenveldt Kingdom Newsletter). Here's how you can allow this to happen:
- If you have written an original class handout, documentation for an A&S Competition entry, or a paper or article, begin by asking someone else to read your material to check for errors (these can be embarrasing). Make any necessary corrections. And, make sure you have included any necessary citations/references, as these are often valuable to readers (and prevent possible copyright issues).
- Obtain a copy of the A&S Publication Permission Form . [In order for the SCA to publish your material, we will require your written permission, including an original signature for use in the Atenveldtus Glorious or in Southwind. (NOTE:The online form has a
button on the bottom of the document—this may not work on all sustems.)] Read, complete, and sign this form.
- Transmit a copy of your work (via e-mail, mail, or by hand), accompanied by the signed form (or a scanned copy if only for Atenveldt A&S Website publication), to the venue for which you have given permission to publish (see the bottom of the form for info). Digital copies may be e-mailed to aspublish@atenveldt.org—this will send a copy to the Chronicler, the A&S Minister, and the Atenveldtus Glorious editor.
- If you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt within a reasonable time, please check with the appropriate receiver to make sure your material was properly received.
Of course, all material will be reviewed, and final publication decision will lie with the Chronicler's Office and/or the Minister of Arts & Sciences. We hope you will share your knowledge and skills, making these Current Middle Ages truly an educational resource for all!
