Greetings to All in Tir Ysgithr, be you Fighter, Servant or Artisan!
On Saturday, July 17, there will be held within in the Gem of Atenveldt our
annual Arts and Sciences Competition. This year, we promise to have activities
for all those who have fought boredom every year when there was but little to do
while the judging was going on. This year we have: A&S Classes (Still Looking
for Teachers) An Estrella War Meeting (Open to all with interest in how the war
is run) Merchants (If you wish to sell your wares, see below)
A Meeting of the Peers of the Barony with the Baron and Baroness (TE seek your
ideas, suggestions, and support) A Mediterranean Pot Luck Luncheon (Yum!) A
Cherries Dish Competition (There will be a prize for the winner chosen by HE
Sabiha) Youth Activities Room (Fun Stuff for kids) Baronial Court (You never
know who they will recognize next!)

THE COMPETITION:
We encourage all to enter at least one item in the A&S Competition. All rules,
regulations, categories, subcategories and an on-line registration form can be
found on the BTY website. We definitely wish to see our current A&S Champion,
Lady Allasan Tamelyn, have a worthy successor, so we seek gentles to compete for
the honor of Baronial A&S Champion. We also have the Household Competition and
Youth Competition as well as Populace Choice, Laurels Choice and Best Novice
along with our individual category winners.

JUDGES: We need judges for the many categories we are certain will be entered.
We do NOT require our Judges to be Kingdom Certified as this is a local
competion. We welcome all who are willing and able to judge and our Judge
wrangeling staff will assign gentle folk accordingly.

PRIZES: We are seeking donated prizes for each of the category winners. Here is
an opportunity to practice your Largesse. Suggestions: Books on Medieval Topics;
decorative containers for spices, beads, small bits, what-have-you; embroidery
thread, bolts of cloth, jewelry, handkerchiefs, ceramics, feast gear and other
useful items, decorative items for home and encampment like small candle holders
and lanterns; decanters and cordial sets -- the sky is the limit. Please contact
Baroness Magdalen with your donations.

ACTIVITIES: If you wish to teach a class, volunteer to judge, donate a prize or
help out with the Pot Luck set up or Merchant, Please contact Baroness Magdalen.

POT LUCK AND CHERRIES DISH COMPETITION: Foods found in the Mediterrenan
Countries are sought after for their incredible taste appeal and their
appropriateness for summer fare. Your dish need not be period, but those who
strive for a period dish will be recognized! Please bring a dish to serve 6-8
gentles. If you wish to bring a larger serving size, feel free to do so. If you
have questions in regard to the Pot Luck, please contact Baroness Magdalen.
As Cherries are Baroness Sabiha's favorite fruit and they are in season in the
Summertime, we invite all to consider bringing a dish inspired by this lovely
lady. Her Excellency enjoys almost every type of preparation of cherries with
the exception of stewed. Chocolate is welcome. Due to site restrictions we
cannot have any cherry dishes on site that require alcohol. If your dish has
alcohol, we will make it available at the Brewing competition location. Her
Excellency will taste each dish and determine a winner of a fine prize at the
close of the day.

Please Join Us for a Day of Arts, Science, and Camaraderie in these Current
Middle Ages!
